Smile, and the world smiles with you

Did you know that it only takes seventeen face muscles to smile and, in contrast, a whopping forty-three muscles for your mouth to go the other way? Yet smiles are often underused, under-rated and under-appreciated. A simple smile can make the world a better and brighter place if only everyone took more time to do it and really mean it.

1. Smiling makes us more attractive.

Look at a frowning person and a smiling person -- which one draws you in and makes you want to know him/her better? A smile is the simplest, most effective way of making anyone look pleasant, attractive, and appealing.

2. Smiling can change our mood in an instant.
Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a smile because there's a good chance you mood will change for the better. Smiles are infectious, even within ourselves.

3. Smiling is infectious.
When a person is smiling, he/she lights up a room. A smiling person brings happiness with them, imagine what a room full of smiling people can do. Better yet, imagine what a world full of smiling people is like!

4. Smiling can relieve stress.
It takes forty-three muscles to frown and only seventeen muscles to smile. No wonder you're stressed! Get that frown off your face and replace it with a quick, easy smile. You'll feel more relaxed in a jiffy!

5. Smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers and serotonin.
Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural feel-good drug!
